Start
To start the listserv process, submit a Service Desk ticket and select the “HTML Email template” option. A member from the Design and Production team will reach out to you to schedule a brief meeting. The entire process could take up to 2-3 weeks.
Create
To create a listserv, once you submit a Service Desk ticket, we will hold a kickoff meeting with you. During this meeting, we need to have the following information to create a listserv in GovDelivery:
- Title
- Summary of topic
- Email addresses of administrators
- List of email addresses for the topic subscribers (if you have them)
- Should include first and last name, email address, and role or school district at a minimum
- Type of topic
- Restricted (the list of administrators control the subscriptions, users can’t self-subscribe)
- Unlisted (this list is not public on the TEA signup page, but users can be sent links so they can subscribe)
- Listed (this list is public and allows all users to self-subscribe from TEA’s “sign-up for updates page.”
- Category of topic
- If you selected a listed topic, you will need to identify the category you want your listserv to show on the TEA website. Categories include:
- About TEA
- Academics
- Accountability
- Charter Schools
- Data Submission
- Finance and Grants
- Instructional Materials
- Laws and Rules
- Learning and Support
- News and Multimedia
- Reports and Data
- Resources
- Restricted Lists
- Safe and Healthy Schools
- School Performance
- Special Student Populations
- State Funding
- Student Testing and Accountability
- Texas Educators
- Texas Schools
- Texas Student Data System
- If you selected a listed topic, you will need to identify the category you want your listserv to show on the TEA website. Categories include:
The Web Services team will review your request for a new topic, then set it up with your topic administrators. Then the Strategic Communications team will follow up with you to upload your subscriber list, create your bulletin template, and go over the steps for creating and sending email bulletins.
